Back from OFFF’08

We had 3 amazing days @ OFFF’08. Several highligts to point out on first hand:

- All of Us, Fallon, Psyop, Group 94, Alex Trochut with amazing amazing amazing work;
- Joshua Davis for the spirited talk and presentation;
- Flexo on the ending performace takes the award for me, no visual just amazing emotional audio. A brutal punch in the stomach that showed that audio can live without visuals, and the opposite is not quite true on multimedia. I think audio design will be very important on the following years;
- Hig-Res for it’s uniqueness;- Motion workshop by gmunk that was the only pratical workshop of the whole event, where people actually could learn how he did his own stuff
- dstrukt + Hecq + The Ronin OFFF’08 Title Premiere that fucking rules (audio and visual were perfect). Once again Audiodesign of Hecq is simply breathtaking. Audio won over visual on OFFF’08 for me!
- One of the best showcases was ofcourse Alex Trochut that got the audience more than any speaker. Amazing Amazing $#”#”$#”$#” Amazing #$$#”%$##%#$%$. :D

The bad
- Fakepilot for the presentation based on his work being rip-off by nokia and levi’s, he should be warned about WDDG 2002 anamorph motion work where he got some inspiration for DUX. And for the Felix Sockwell lines Illustration style he used on the travel motion :D.

- Group94 workshop where they should present an “how-we-do-this-amazing-fluid-motion-you-all-love-and-drool-over-
your-keyboards” based their workshop by showing a tecnique of swf address (very vulgal nowadays) and the cms that we could already see on their current homepage.

See you in ‘09!
